Greetings from Mirkwood
On the slightly soggy banks of Socastee Creek
Just west of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The equipment here is a Ten-Tec Jupiter and an Ameritron ALS-600 linear amplifier pushing a Carolina Windom up about 50 feet in the trees. The farm includes a Mini Hybrid Quad as well as a VHF/UHF dual band vertical up on the roof. From this station we enjoy working DX, public service nets, and when needed we supply meteorological data to the Hurricane Watch Net. We also enjoy HF and dual band mobiling while commuting 35 miles to work in Loris, S.C. where we manage a small Radio Shack Dealer store. I am a member of ARRL, DXCC, INDEXA, Grand Strand ARC, and the San Miguel Assembly Knights of Columbus. I am also active in Cub Scout Pack 899.
